Denuo assisted Yandex in its acquisition of eLama, an advertising technology platform

The deal involving the acquisition of one of Russia’s biggest SaaS (software as a service) platforms in the sphere of internet marketing was announced in 2022, but due to changing market factors the sellers’ and purchasers’ teams had to revise the deal structure to adapt it to the existing market conditions. The deal closing is scheduled for mid-2024.

In this project, Yandex was represented by a team of lawyers from Denuo who took care of all IP issues, a key aspect for this technology business. Roman Golovatsky, Intellectual Property legal director, headed the Denuo team who worked on this unique project, with active assistance from associate Igor Matveyev.

Thanks to the deal, Yandex is purchasing not only a technology platform, but an experienced team of eLama’s professionals who will contribute to the further development of the platform service. This will allow Yandex to extensively expand its customer base and ecosystem, while strengthening its position in internet marketing.
