Denuo is pleased to announce the winners of the 2023 Pavel Bakoulev Scholarship Award. This annual scholarship is awarded by Denuo to law students of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Russia’s leading law school.
The 2023 scholarship was awarded to the following four students.
- First prize: Irina Serenkova (bachelor’s degree student, third year)

Second prize: Sophia Bakieva (master’s degree student, first year)

Third prize: Savva Smelykh (master’s degree student, first year) and Maxim Dorfman (bachelor’s degree student, third year)
This year, law students were asked to write an essay on Russian and foreign experience of legal issues concerning security in nuclear energy. Eight participants were shortlisted to present in front of a selected jury comprised of representatives of Lomonosov Moscow State University and Denuo. This year’s jury included professors Gayane Davidyan and Evgeny Gubin of Lomonosov Moscow State University and Denuo Corporate legal directors Evgenia Kudryashova, Maria Shevchenko and Angelika Yakhneva. The prizes include financial awards and internship opportunities at Denuo.
The Pavel Bakoulev Scholarship Award was established in 2012, in memory of DLA Piper partner Pavel Bakoulev.
